Join a panel discussion with Sheridan Alumni Stacey Chomiak (Bachelor of Animation ’09), the Canadian Mental Health Association, and the Positive Space Network. The panel will discuss the challenges LGBTQ+ youth experience and how it can impact mental wellness. The panel will offer information, support and strategies for parents, caregivers, peers, and the community, as well as support and strategies on access to mental health care and services for LGBTQ+ youth.

This keynote will focus on highlighting the different factors and influences that impact 2SLGBTQ+ individuals and identities, both in society and in the workplace, and how to create truly inclusive environments.

Using imagery and quotations to guide our reflection, we will explore the textured meanings of “pride” personally and collectively. We will reflect on current events (e.g., legislation in the United States) and their impact on feelings and expressions of pride, and the health of our communities.
