Join us and 10 other Colleges for an evening with Simu Liu, for a Q & A and discussion about his rise to stardom from Harbin to Hollywood and his experience in the film and television.
From immigrating to Canada at a young age, to portraying Shang-Chi in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings and Jung Kim in Kim’s Convenience, Simu will share his inspiring journey, and how he got to where he is today.
Meet Simu Liu
Liu was born in Harbin, China, on 19 April 1989. Liu was raised by his grandparents until age 5, when his parents immigrated with him to Canada. He was raised in Mississauga, Ontario. He attended University of Toronto Schools for high school and studied business administration at the Ivey Business School at the University of Western Ontario, graduating with honours in 2011.
Simu Liu is a Canadian actor and stuntman known for portraying Shang-Chi in the 2021 Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) film Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. He also played Jung Kim in the CBC Television sitcom Kim’s Convenience and received nominations at the ACTRA Awards and Canadian Screen Awards for his work in Blood and Water.
