March 2025 Sheridan Student Union Recap
March was a powerful mix of advocacy, cultural appreciation, and connection across all Sheridan campuses. From sharing a meal at Together at the Table, celebrating cultural diversity at Sheridan, and using our voices to shape the Sheridan Life in SSU Board Elections, this month was a testament of just how important it is to create spaces where students can thrive, grow, and feel supported.
Let’s take a look at March’s Recap!
Updates From Our SSU Board of Directors
We’re thrilled to share a major milestone in student leadership! Over 4,000 students casted their votes during the SSU Board Elections held March 24–28, 2025, shaping the future of student advocacy at Sheridan. Please join us in welcoming the 2025-2026 SSU Board of Directors:
Hazel McCallion Campus: Navdeep Kaur, Leanne Gulmayo, Aryan Patel, and Cheshta Khurana
Davis Campus: Sania Sachdeva, Agambir Singh, Ashish Arora, and Krishna Sharma
Trafalgar Campus: Austin Sharpe, Simon Peter Kyadondo, Gurshaan Singh Sidhu, and Wajiha Siddiqui
We are excited to see more and more students using their voices by engaging in the voting process this year!
Updates From The SSU Executive Team
Sheridan College collaborated with our SSU’s Executive Team to host one of the month's most heartwarming highlights: Together at the Table. This event was a shared meal experience that brought over 1,000 students together across Davis and HMC campuses to connect, eat, and be present with one another.

In the spirit of civic engagement, our Exec Team teamed up with SSU volunteer Océanna Rizzetto to host an interactive pop-up to educate students on the power of voting. With over 300 students stopping by, the space provoked thoughtful conversations on how small actions like voting can shape the future.
VP Amalia Powell partnered with SSU Services and our legal expert Bill Reid for “Your Lease, Your Rights”, a virtual session designed to help students understand their housing rights under Ontario’s Residential Tenancy Act.

Finally, the month wrapped up with the launch of our very first SSU Resources Fair, an event that brought together organizations like Ontario Student Voices, SSU’s Perk Partners, and on-campus services to showcase just how many tools and opportunities are available to students. March truly showed us the power of partnership and what can happen when students lead with heart and purpose.
Updates From Our Services Team
Besides partnering with SSU’s Executive Team to launch our first SSU Resources Fair, our Services Team welcomed new Perk Partners to keep supporting our students on their academic journey! Check out this month’s amazing partnerships:

Sheridan Student Union Events
This month, our Events Team brought cultural celebration, artistic expression, and comedy to our campuses. Students let their inner child free at our Weekend Getaway to Pursuit OCR, the largest indoor obstacle course in Canada, where they ran, jumped, and tumbled through a giant ball pit in a high-energy burst of play and freedom.
At Davis Campus, students celebrated spring with Rang De Holi, a dazzling evening of glowing lights, colour, and dancing. The energy was electric as students turned into living artwork, laughing and moving through clouds of vibrant colour while welcoming the new season.
Meanwhile, the International Women’s Day Fair at HMC created a space of empowerment and conversation. Students met local female entrepreneurs, connected with women-led clubs, and explored topics around health, safety, and leadership in meaningful, approachable ways.
The month had a special space for laughter at Dorm Room Stand-Up, where students packed the venue to see Canadian comedian (and TikTok sensation) Hassan Phills live. Between the jokes and community moments, students got a much-needed break from mid-semester stress, and a reminder that joy is essential too.

And last but not least, the coziest pop-up drawing event: our Creative Corner Comic Pop-Up! Students came together to reflect on women who have inspired them and created a comic in their honour.
Make sure to keep an eye on our Creative Corner Pop-Ups! Each month, we provide comic templates, art supplies, and an open-ended theme to inspire our students to draw and reflect on.

Sheridan Student Union Clubs
March was a busy month for our SSU Clubs Team! With the exciting Cultural Showcase Fair and an impressive 50 student-led events across campuses, the month was filled with cultural appreciation, empowering initiatives, and a vibrant community spirit.
Enactus made a huge impact by representing Sheridan at Regionals, where they showcased their community projects and were selected to compete at Nationals in Alberta.
Meanwhile, the Sheridan Esports crew hit the road to represent Sheridan in Windsor for the Saints Gauntlet Series, bringing their A-game to the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Competition. And last but not least; Relay for Life (Trafalgar) organized one of their biggest fundraisers yet, an inspiring, heartfelt event supporting the Canadian Cancer Society and honouring those affected by cancer.
We are happy to have welcomed three new clubs this month:
🧠 Sheridan Society of Osteopath (DAV): A club of future manual osteopathic practitioners that grows together both personally and professionally.
💼 Sheridan Finance Club (HMC): This is a club where finance students can connect, attend networking events and more.
💬 The Friend Zone (HMC): A relaxed and welcoming space where you can meet new people, unwind, connect, and enjoy your time in college through various events.
🗣️ Staff Shoutout! Big cheers to Miranda for supporting clubs in organizing large-scale, year-end events. She’s been juggling it all like a pro!
