This month:
o The board has been proactive in gathering valuable student feedback concerning SSU services.
o Actively engaging with students to gather new ideas and suggestions for future events. These insights will be instrumental in planning and organizing exciting events by the Events Team for the year.
o The board members that are a part of the Finance Committee had their first meeting on July 4th and they are currently undergoing finance introductory training to equip themselves with the necessary skills and knowledge to manage the financial aspects efficiently.
o The International Health Committee, led by the board, successfully conducted its first meeting on July 18th. During this meeting, they set clear objectives and established timelines to achieve them. The IHAD committee is a board-initiated committee that aims to understand the awareness of the existing health plan provided to the international students at Sheridan and understanding the gaps in the health coverage with respect to the supplemental health and dental coverage provided to the domestic students by the Sheridan Student Union.
Next month:
o The Board is enthusiastic about introducing themselves to the entire SSU staff during the upcoming SSU 101 event. This will provide an excellent opportunity for the board to connect with SSU staff members.
o The board is eagerly awaiting the orientation session, where they will warmly welcome both new and returning students. They aim to create a welcoming atmosphere and set the tone for an exciting and fulfilling academic year ahead.
