Thrive Week Presents: Meal Prep & Cooking Show

In support of Sheridan College’s Thrive Week, our SSU execs and Sheridan Wellness Team are coming together to teach you how to thrive with food! Whether you want to learn how to save money when you grocery shop or stay healthy on a student budget, this event is for you!

Join us for a Healthy Taco Tuesday Cooking Show!

Best part? There will be a 30 min cooking demo for you to follow along, so you’ll leave with a full belly too! Below you will find the grocery list, all for under $20.00. We encouraged students to purchase the ingredients before the event.

Your Healthy Taco Tuesday Grocery List

Here’s what you will need! ⬇️

INGREDIENTS
-one package of small size corn or flour tortillas
- 2 large sweet potatoes
- 1 can of black beans
- 1 small head of purple or green cabbage
- 1 small container of feta (mozzarella or cheddar works also)
- Small container of roasted peanuts
- Small container of mayo
- Small container of sour cream
- 3 limes

- Chili powder
- Cayenne pepper powder
- Ground cumin powder
- Neutral cooking oil (canola)
- Optional cilantro for garnish
- Optional avocado for garnish

Our grocery list is below, check it out now! Our recipe can create 2-3 meals for you to share with roommates, or even eat as leftovers the next day!

This event supports our 8 Dimensions of Wellness project by helping students manage their physical and financial wellness. Don’t forget to fill out your Thrive Week Passport by 11:59pm on October 11 to be entered into the prize draw!
