National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women

Sheridan Student Union and Sheridan College will have a commemoration of the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women on Tuesday, December 6, from 1:00 – 1:30 p.m. This day honours the lives of 14 young women who were murdered at Polytechnique Montréal on December 6, 1989. This act of violent misogyny shook our country and led Parliament to designate December 6 as The National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women.

You are invited to attend Sheridan’s commemoration of the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women.

  • Date: Tuesday, December 6, 2022

  • Time: 1 p.m. - 1 :30 p.m.

  • Location: SCAET*, Trafalgar Road Campus

Virtual: A YouTube link will be shared closer to the event. The event will also be streamed live via Sheridan TV on screens in common areas throughout our campuses.

*After formal remarks, attendees are invited to step outside to the Peace Garden for laying of roses. Please dress for the weather.
