Meet The Alumni
Laura Franzoi (She/Her)
Graduated from: Office Administration – Health Services in 2018
Current position: First Year Experience Program Specialist, Sheridan College
I am passionate about supporting students and creating resources and an environment that promotes their success during their studies. I was fortunate to have been able to be an advocate for students during my time studying at Sheridan through my work with the SSU, and those opportunities helped me discover an extremely rewarding career path in post-secondary education student services. Outside of my work in post-secondary, I am passionate about gender- and pay-equity in sports.
Amelia Sher (She/Her)
Graduated from: Media Fundamentals in 2015, followed by Journalism in 2017.
These days, I'm proudly wearing two hats: Founder of Sheridanlife Radio and Station Manager.
Beyond the radio scene, I'm also a certified Krav Maga instructor, passionate about equipping others with self-defense skills. What drives me in both realms—media and self-defense—is my commitment to amplifying voices, fostering confidence, and empowering people to share their stories authentically.
Working closely with others is where I thrive, and my journey in radio has been incredibly fulfilling. I'm dedicated to building a lasting legacy at Sheridanlife Radio, where the stories we curate transcend the studio and resonate with our Sheridan communities for years to come. Working with students to achieve their goals in radio whether it be for fun or creatively has always been something that I have loved about my role.
And let's not forget about my love for indie music! Discovering talented local artists and sharing their music is a highlight of my role. It's amazing to connect with these musicians, hearing their stories and witnessing their growth before they hit the big time!
Lucas Laurenssen (He/Him)
Graduated From: Architectural Technology Co-op Program in 2010
Projects Technologist, Facilities and Sustainable Infrastructure
As Project Manager in Facilities and Sustainable Infrastructure, Lucas leads a cross disciplinary team throughout all phases of design and construction. With over 15 years of experience in project management, Lucas is a graduate of the Architectural Technology Co-op program (2010) at Sheridan and has grown his career within the learning community. Lucas is passionate about mentoring and supporting students in their learning journeys and supports work integrated learning activities within the Facilities team.
Oliver Galang (He/Him)
Graduated From: Business Administration - Marketing in 2017.
Oliver is the CEO & Founder of OG Marketing, a company that supports businesses in advertising and app and social media marketing (among many other things!). He admits to being a nerd about the latest marketing trends and describes himself as an experimental growth marketer and a creative and analytical thinker.
Outside of marketing, he’s interested in board games, e-sports, and the Raptors!
