How to be an ally, friend and source of support
Join practicum student, Julia, and the Women's Centre of Halton for a virtual workshop to help you learn how you can best support your LGBTQ+ loved ones, and how to be a better ally.
This workshop is open to everyone, LGBTQ+ individuals and allies included.
Meet Julia Bertola
As a 2SLGBTQ+ advocate, Julia is dedicated to creating inclusivity in Ontario. They became a passionate advocate while studying and working at Sheridan College, and is active in the Peel Region community. This includes hosting Pride Month events and initiatives every year since 2019, as well as educational activities year-round. Given their love for community development, Julia has decided to go back to school to receive their Social Service Worker diploma and they are currently working with the Women’s Centre of Halton to learn how to empower women and non-binary folks from all backgrounds.
When they’re not thinking about school or working, Julia spends their time playing video games, hanging out with their dog, and reading cheesy sci-fi books.
