SSU Joins the SickKids Foundation Campus Challenge

Join the Campus Challenge To Be Brave For SickKids

Your SSU Executive Team are inviting all Sheridan students to join the Campus Challenge for Sick Kids from March 14th-21st*, a fundraising initiative geared towards University and College students where individuals and groups compete in a common challenge, stand in solidarity and fundraise for the SickKids Foundation. This year, the challenge to “Be Brave for SickKids” is asking students and community members to showcase acts of bravery that ‘safely’ push you outside of your comfort zones.

To rise to the challenge and “Be Brave for SickKids”, our Student Leaders have decided to share embarrassing stories on our social channels and have also set a goal to raise $2,000 in 7 days. The best part is every dollar raised will be matched by the SSU.

Let’s see how much of an impact we can have together! Are you up for the challenge?

Everyday SickKids patients show their bravery and courage as they face the toughest challenges in child health. Inspired by the stories of resilience of these children, we are even more excited for the chance to be brave together, get involved, and help build a new SickKids. Interested in getting involved?

Here’s how to get started:

Resources to Help You Fundraise

Reaching out to your friends and family can be an act of bravery in itself. We know any funds raised will help make a difference in the lives of patients at SickKids, so if you need a little help getting started, The Sick Kids Foundation created a few guides to help you tackle your fundraising goals:

As your Student Union, we are proud to support the SickKids Foundation and excited to learn about the progress that has already been made in community outreach, research, and patient care. As we join University and College students from across Ontario in support of this cause, this challenge reminds us of the power that lies within the SickKids patients to not only be brave, but inspire us all to do the same.

* The Campus Challenge website says challenge week is March 7 – 14. please note that Sheridan students challenge has moved to March 14 – 21!

The fundraising page will remain open until March 31, 2022 if you would like to continue to support and share after our Challenge Week.
