Sheridan Student Union is proud of the steps that Sheridan has taken to address systemic racism and access to quality education for Black students but still acknowledges that there is a lot more work to be done. To learn more about how the SSU celebrates and reaffirms our commitment to Black History year round, check out our Black History Month page. Most recently, we proudly introduced SSU’s Diversity in Education Award to recognize the impact of race as a social construct on the lives of Black, Indigenous and racialized students. We will continue to make concrete initiatives to help amplify the voices, opportunities and experiences of our community.
