About: Sheridan’s Building Positive Space Committee is comprised of students, staff and faculty from the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, as well as allies, who plan events and initiatives in support of #SheridanPride and work to advance inclusion at Sheridan for members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community.

Building Positive Spaces Kits
As an extension of our commitment to this committee and building an inclusive environment at Sheridan, Sheridan Student Union created the Building Positive Space Kits to celebrate Sheridan Pride. The kits include a wide range of 2SLGBTQIA+ resources (window decals and wellness resources, Sheridan Pride stickers and pronoun buttons) all of which are provided for free upon request to all Sheridan staff and faculty.
The resources inside each kit offer both Sheridan College and SSU to foster a sense of ongoing inclusivity, support and solidarity with the 2LGBTQIA+ community. This initiative was started in 2022 by former Vice President of Community Development, Julia Bertola, and has quickly become a colourful addition to both Sheridan and SSU spaces.

Pride Bench @ HMC
In 2021, Sheridan, in partnership with the City of Mississauga, unveiled a rainbow Pride Bench in Scholar's Green outside of Sheridan's Hazel McCallion Campus!
Pride Sticker Project
In celebration of #SheridanPride 2021, four talented Animation students created designs featured in our Pride Sticker Sheets collection, and proceeds went directly to student designers! Each sticker celebrated and acknowledge the unique experiences of 2SLGBTQ+ members. Meet the designers and check out their work now!
Pride Month Collection
In collaboration with the Building Positive Spaces Committee, SSU created a “Love is Love” Pride Collection full of tees, water bottles and hoodies that 2SLGBTQ+ members and allies could wear with pride! All the money made from our Swag Shop goes back into programs, initiatives and scholarships for our students.
