Once you have your user account set up, you can then begin your exploration of clubs that interest you.
The “Organizations” tab will display all the clubs and organizations that are active at all three campuses. You also have the opportunity to connect with the Club President directly by clicking on the “Contact” button.
Overall, Clubs Corner will provide you with the opportunity to make new friends, step out of your comfort zone, and unwind from books. So, what are you waiting for? Go ahead and dive into the endless possibilities a club can bring to your life personally and professionally. From hackathons and leadership conferences, to Fortnite battles and pub nights, clubs deliver it all!
Now you may be thinking, “what types of clubs does the Sheridan Student Union offer”? Well, there are many clubs on campus that range from academic to social clubs. There’s so much diversity with the types of clubs being offered, as we strive to create safe spaces where students can feel included.
Academic clubs provide a way for students to become more involved in their program and are operated with the help of a faculty advisor. Academic clubs help students collaborate with other students and alumni who have already gained industry experience. Some examples would be:
Accounting Students Association for students in the Accounting program
The Paralegal Club for students who are studying law
The Udesign Club for students in Arts of Design programs.
Social clubs are based on a particular area of interest and passion. Social Clubs are available to all students who want to be surrounded by peers with similar interests. These clubs are great because they are open for everyone to join in and participate - compared to academic clubs, in which you must be studying under that faculty. Some examples of social clubs include:
Toastmasters
The Mooting Club
Face IT Club
These clubs are a few examples for you to see the diverse clubs our student community has built to enhance your #SheridanLife. We hope to see you on board and involved with your Sheridan community!
Having trouble finding a club and organization that suits your interests? Why not create your own?
In order to create your own organization, head to Clubs Corner and log-in with your Sheridan username and password. Then, click on the “Organizations” tab along the top of the screen, which will bring you to the list of existing clubs and organizations.
On the left side of the screen, underneath the categories filter, you should see a button that says, “Register an Organization”. This will bring you to the registration page. Since you will be starting up a new club, press on the “Register a new organization” button, follow the on-screen instructions, and submit the form when you are ready.
It is that easy to create your own club or organization! Once your organization has been fully approved, you will able to host virtual meetings and events, create amazing promotion with the help of the marketing team, and so much more!
