sheridan student showcase

In partnership with the Faculty of Animation, Arts and Design, Sheridan Student Union is proud to share the work of students who were featured Sheridan Student Showcase. Below you will find a collection of past unique work, all of which were installed in the B-Wing of our Trafalgar campus from our talented Sheridan students.

Selected works from the exhibition SHIFT

This display showcases a selection of projects from graduates of the Honours Bachelor of Interior Design and Interior Decorating Programs titled SHIFT, which took place in May 2024 at Sheridan’s Hazel McCallion Campus in Mississauga.

SHIFT embodies the essence of our transformative journey as Interior Design and Interior Decorating students at Sheridan. It symbolizes our ability to adapt and evolve, creating shifts through our designs in a rapidly changing world.

From our navigating online learning to the return to in-person education, our time at Sheridan has been defined by shifts – shifts in expectations, shifts in perspective, and shifts in approach. Each obstacle we encountered required us to pivot, reassess and innovate.

Throughout this journey, we have remained committed to growth and pushing the boundaries of design. Our designs reflect not only our academic achievements, but also our creative exploration and resilience in the face of challenges.

  • The Graduating Student Art Awards recognize outstanding graduating students and purchase their artwork for inclusion in our Art Lending Library. Through the Art Lending Library, members of the Sheridan community can borrow student artwork to install across our three campuses.

For the Awards, the Sheridan Galleries team meets with graduating students across FAAD. They evaluate individual artworks as well as the professional profile demonstrated by students, who hone their skills by writing artist statements and interacting with gallery professionals. Through this program, the curatorial team provides students with mentorship opportunities to learn more about best practices and acquisition processes.

Now in its fifth year, this annual initiative is funded by the Faculty of Animation, Arts & Design and Sheridan Alumni.
