Take Back the Night
Date: Thurs, Oct 5
Time: 6:30pm - 9:30pm

Take Back the Night is an annual event that is recognized around the world. The focus is on raising awareness of all forms of violence against women and children. It is estimated that 1 in 3 Canadian women will experience sexual assault in their lifetime. Violence comes in many forms and impacts people from all walks of life.

This event is being hosted by the Social Service Worker (SSW) Program’s Social Justice and Action Committee, the Peer Mentors from SSW, Community Worker Outreach and Development and Gerontology Programs, in partnership with Peel Aboriginal Network, Sexual Assault Intervention Services of Halton, The Indigenous Centre for Learning and Support, Student Union, The Centre for Equity and Inclusion and Student Affairs.  Join us for refreshments, speakers, performers and a march around campus to raise awareness of violence against women and children.
