An LGBTQ+ Reading Series

Join us for the inaugural event of Pride Reads: an LBGTQ+ reading series. We welcome author Ruby Remenda Swanson for a look at her work A Family Outing: A Memoir. Filled with love, empathy and good storytelling, the book is Ruby’s account of a parent’s experience following their child’s coming out. It explores the process of moving through the stages of confusion, acceptance and ultimately celebrating a child’s authentic identity.

March 21, 2024

In this series, we feature the voices and literary expression of diverse Canadian writers who have published books with Queer themes, topics, and discourses. The intention is to bring Queer Presence to Sheridan College, and to the student and local communities. Pride Reads will feature Canadian Literature, and will engage both authors and the community in readings and discussions surrounding LGBTQ+ lived experiences in everyday life in Canada.
