Student Performer - Abiy Nicole
Based in Milton, Ontario, Abiy Nicole uses writing as an outlet for her clouded mind, bringing musicality to her penning to create spirited, ear-candy pieces. Inspired by songstresses and poets like Lucille Clifton, she breathes life into the union of words through her passion for storytelling. Now in her third year at Sheridan studying Creative Writing and Publishing, Abiy Nicole has been honored as the 2023 Third Place Winner of the Debwewin Allyship Poetry Contest and the Second Place Winner of Sheridan's 2023 Black History Month Creative Reflection Contest.
