Sheridan Student Union President and Vice President Visit the New Student Centre at Hazel McCallion Campus
the latest look at Sheridan’s New Student Centre and athletic building
The construction of the HMC Student Centre first began in the winter term of 2018, and since then, the anticipation has grown as Hazel McCallion Campus students look forward to have a new space on campus they can call their own. Sheridan’s new Student Centre will offer more study spaces at HMC, places for clubs at Sheridan to meet, and a specialized gym with an elevated running track.
Since our last HMC Student Centre construction update, a lot of process has been made. SSU President, Kyle Budge, and Vice President, Gaby Moryoussef, have visited the campus and shared a closer look inside the new Student Centre. As an HMC student herself, Gaby knows the impact this space will have on the Sheridan community.
“For months, the President, the General Manager, and the Senior Manager of Operations of the SSU and I have a been sitting in on stakeholder meetings and receiving updates about the construction for HMC. Being at those meetings was like seeing a glimpse of my home campus while I was away studying virtually. Going to those meetings and watching the progress from meeting to meeting was incredibly exciting as an HMC student. On September 3rd, 2021, the team and I were invited to take a tour of HMC’s [new Student Centre]. While there, we adhered to both the construction and COVID policies in place. The facilities look incredible and much bigger than they do in the photos.” - Gaby Moryoussef
