Looking for financial assistance?
Sheridan Student Union is committed to celebrating students outstanding academic achievement and providing financial support throughout their Sheridan Life.
Our contributions have included a variety of academic awards and in Fall 2021, we proudly expanded this support by launching our first SSU Scholarship, SSU Bursary, as well as two other awards. Through these financial donations, we hope to create more access to quality education, acknowledge the financial and social challenges many Sheridan student experience, and help lessen the financial burden for students.

The SSU Diversity in Education Award recognizes the impact of race as a social construct. Societies construct races as real, different, and unequal in ways that matter to economic, political, and social life. These experiences can lead to further negative impacts, such as limited opportunities in education. This award will be awarded to Black, Indigenous and racialized students in increments. Student Academic Awards
Academic Awards celebrate students demonstrating outstanding academic achievement. These awards are then presented annually, in the form of grad shows, year end shows and full faculty ceremonies. Every year, since 2003, the SSU has contributed to over 600 Academic Awards in each of the five faculties. Sheridan students are nominated by faculty members for their academic excellence and notified that they have been chosen as a recipient by their faculty.
Here’s what past recipients had to say about their nomination!
The goal of SSU’s contribution to academic awards is for Sheridan students to feel inspired to continue on their path towards success and motivated to excel in their area of study. Our donation, and commitment to future financial support, is aimed at assisting all students through the financial and social challenges they may be facing, while celebrating and recognizing all the hard work.
