 Artist’s Statement

My work revolves around making smoking pipes using my visual interests and influences from the pipe community to then create my version of what a pipe could be outside of its current context in society. Generally, pipes are stigmatized and not regarded as something that could have greater value. Through my use of forms, I create pipes that are more objective and open to interpretation without masking the functionality.
