Tell us about you and your role within the SU:

“My name is Stanzin Yutung, and I am currently serving as a Board of Director (BOD) at the HMC campus. I am dedicated to fostering a welcoming and dynamic student community at Sheridan. In my role with the Sheridan Student Union (SSU), I advocate for student interests, encourage student participation, and maintain accountability to the student body. I am enrolled in the Advertising and Marketing program, where I am honing my skills in communication and leadership. This year, my objectives include increasing student engagement and working towards developing on-campus housing resources, particularly for international students. I am especially excited to collaborate with my fellow board members to implement meaningful changes. What I appreciate most about Sheridan is its lively and diverse community, which offers a rich array of perspectives and ideas. Being involved with the SSU enables me to contribute to this vibrant community and positively influence student life. As we all know, Sheridan is renowned for its diverse community, and my involvement with the SSU allows me to actively contribute to this dynamic environment and make a positive impact on student life.”

What is your goal as a member of the Board this year?

“My goal as a member of the Board this year, I am committed to improving communication channels between the SSU and the students, ensuring that their voices are heard and their concerns addressed promptly. Additionally, one of my key objectives is to work towards developing on-campus housing resources, especially tailored to meet the needs of international students. This involves collaborating with relevant stakeholders to explore viable options and solutions that enhance student living experiences and promote inclusivity within our campus community. Overall, my goal is to contribute meaningfully to the growth and welfare of Sheridan students, fostering a positive and enriching environment for everyone.”
